PARKIE is HL Robotics' indoor autonomous parking robot, which HL calls the world's thinnest. It is an AMR that slides under a car, precisely identifies the wheel spacing and the vehicle's centre, lifts the car by its wheels and carries it to a parking space, navigating on its own by detecting obstacles, free space and driving paths. It needs no extra infrastructure or guide equipment. Applying a mechanical parking method to an ordinary self-parking structure, PARKIE can increase the number of spaces by up to 30% and allow lower floor heights, freeing room for an extra level or other uses. It cuts valet labour costs and risks, and a mobile app lets drivers follow their car after drop-off and book its return to shorten waiting; an API connects it to parking and building-management systems. Developed over four years from HL's autonomous-driving and automotive manufacturing expertise, PARKIE won a CES 2024 Best of Innovation Award and is in operation in high-traffic office buildings.
