NETRA is a family of torpedo-shaped autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) from Xera Robotics of Chennai, built to run underwater missions with little human intervention. The vehicles combine autonomous navigation, AI-based perception, underwater imaging and sensing and mission-level autonomy, and they can be configured for different mission profiles and payloads in coastal, offshore and deep-water settings. Xera's product page lists a length of 167 cm, a depth rating of 300 m, a payload of 5 kg and a speed range of 6 to 12 knots, and gives a weight figure of 30 without a unit. Capabilities include modular payload integration, data collection and mapping and long-duration missions. The vehicle in the maker's photo is a grey hull with an orange nose cone, a vertical tail fin, sensor masts and a radio antenna, running on the surface.
