ASTRO V1 (Autonomous Surveillance and Tracking Rover) is a compact four-wheel-drive unmanned ground vehicle from Edgeforce Solutions for reconnaissance, surveillance and light logistics in rough or remote terrain. The rover carries a tall sensor mast with a camera head and lights, and sends real-time data back to the operator for situational awareness. It is driven from a handheld ground control unit with a built-in display. Edgeforce says its own algorithm fuses stereo vision, LiDAR and navigation sensors so the vehicle can operate autonomously, and describes the software as the core of its UGVs. The 4x4 all-terrain drive is intended for steep inclines and uneven ground. Edgeforce has shown ASTRO at defence-startup exhibitions; the site publishes no dimensions, speed, range or endurance figures and names no customers.
