The P550™ is an aerial robot from AeroVironment. It is designed for exploration, monitoring, patrol, remote inspection, and other military tasks. What sets the P550™ apart is its combination of an all-electric propulsion system with AI autonomy and a modular open systems approach. This design allows for tool-free reconfiguration of payloads and batteries, enabling rapid adaptation to mission needs. With over 5 hours of all-battery endurance and the capacity to carry up to 15 lb of multi-sensor payloads, the P550™ offers persistent situational awareness and targeted effects, even in contested environments. Its vertical launch and landing capability further contribute to its operational flexibility. The P550™ is built for quick field setup and features hot-swappable components for fast mission turnarounds. It integrates with third-party mission planning, datalinks, and ground control systems. The robot has been released.
