cinnamon 1 is Donut Robotics' mass-production bipedal humanoid, which the company presents as the first Japanese-brand mass-production walking humanoid. It stands about 170 cm tall and weighs about 70 kg. Donut says the body is an overseas OEM airframe carrying Donut's own AI, and that it plans to move to domestically made hardware and software in the near future. Its AI includes a Vision-Language Model (VLM) that understands images and language, and Donut has begun developing its own Vision-Language-Action (VLA) model that goes from language understanding to action. It features what the company calls the world's first 'Silent Gesture Control' - operating a humanoid by hand gestures, useful where noise makes voice commands unreliable - for which a patent is pending. Initial applications are work on construction sites and in factories, and Donut says it has already been delivered to major companies. It has been demonstrated live on national Japanese television and featured in an NHK physical-AI programme.
